A New Friend

How fun today was! I had the great pleasure to meet a fellow stamper. Isn't is one of life's pleasures to have friends that enjoy the same things you do? Stamping, card making and scrapbooking have led me on a path that has opened up new areas of creativity and artistic avenues that I would not have chosen for myself.

SplitcoastStampers (SCS) is a community of generous people willing to share their ideas, talents, and creative resources to others for just being in love with the art of stamping.

More about my meeting with Joani, a fellow SCS member. She had posted a thread seeking other stampers in the Kentucky are. I commented and then we start e-mailing. She is located within 30 miles of where I live, so we decided to meet for breakfast and exchange a card. Check out her website and blog.

I also got to meet her mother, Rose, who was delightful. Joani is very creative and has a supply of luscious designer paper! We shared many ideas and thoughts today - I truly enjoyed their fellowship and of course the Cracker Barrell breakfast. Yummy!

Making Cards for a Swap

The weekend has flown by! Whenever I have a swap deadline to meet, I procrastinate until it is almost due date. These are the cards I will mail for the swap on SCS. I signed up for 3 groups, Birthday Girl, Birthday Boy and Thinking of You.
These swaps help me to increase my stash of cards and what great ideas other stampers have. Sometimes I think, "why didn't I think of that"?
Products and Stamps are Stampin' Up!. You gotta remember that I am a demo.
The teddy bear does not looks like it co-ordinates, but in real life- it is really cute.

A Page a Day

Gosh! I sure am enjoying making my committment for a scrapbook page each day...(BigPictureScrapbooking). Before this, I could never seem to find the time to just sit down and get a 12 x 12 page finished. Yesterday, I posted this page:

The idea of making a page showing all the wonderful embellishments that I really enjoy using (that I was hoarding) excited me. This page shows my love of brads, flowers, buttons, punches (I have a ton), ribbons (can't ever have enough) and "bling".
I used the Bo Bunny flexible ruler to make my wavy lines. This layout is truly out of my comfort zone - but I like it.
In the green scallop oval, I used brads with alpha's and spelled the work "brads". The paper and ribbons are from a package of co-ordinating papers that I purchased from Big Lots! The jewel tones and matching ribbon made for an easy layout without spending a lot of time searching my designer paper folders.

A Charmed Life

How can one year end and another year get this far along so quickly? This is the year that I will finish the album I started in 2007 . To do this I signed up for a scrap layout class on Big Picture Scrapbook . You make a page each day for 30 days and best of all _ it' free! This was the only way I could make myself commit - even though I am 8 days behind - I finished one page today.
Hopefully, this album will reflect my life and thoughts for one year. This page accents the factor that I have "a charmed life". I am capable of dreaming, loving, smiling and can imagine anything that comes to my mind.
Paper: Wild Asparagus (MME) "My Family"
Accents: the tag in the left corner and the flowers on each corner has rubons from Stampin Up, one of the new items this year. I love them! The package comes with a set of two; one in black and one in white. I also used my SU corner punch and spiral punch. The little notebook page lists why I have a charmed life.
charming husband
2 handsome sons
comfortable home
heartfelt friends
Jesus in my heart
You may ask - why not list grandchildren and other family---they will come later!
Proverbs 34:4-5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths."

What Color Crayon Are You??

You Are a Green Crayon
Your world is colored in harmonious, peaceful, natural colors. While some may associate green with money, you are one of the least materialistic people around.Comfort is important to you. You like to feel as relaxed as possible - and you try to make others feel at ease. You're very happy with who you are, and it certainly shows!
Your color wheel opposite is red. Every time you feel grounded, a red person does their best to shake you.
