Outgoing Bottles!

Yea! I finished picking out ephemera items, papers, fun fur, and bunches of other goodies to mail out with my two bottles for"Messagel in a Bottle" swap. I can't wait to see my postmaster's face when I take them to get postage!

Want a peek of what's inside???
For more information about this --click on the bottle in my sidebar--it might seem complicated, but it just requires patience.!
Hopefully, I will receive three bottles within the next few weeks.

World Card Making Day - Oct 4th

Friends are a blessing to me. Over the past few years, I have found many online friends to share my love of stamping, card making, camping, and many other activities with. Some have faces that I have seen, others do not (but eventually, I will get to meet them). I invited a few of these to join me in a card making exchange in honor of World Card Making Day, October 4th.

Last week, I sent them a "teaser" card to show that I enjoy the times spent with them and to encourage our friendship. By now, they should have all received it and here it is:

As I am a Stampin' Up! demo, I used the new In-color baja breeze as the base, green tea designer paper, choc chip c/s, a rubbernecker stamp, and a cute friend poem I found. Of course, there is the round scallop punch, two sizes circle punches, a die cut that has been inked and the flowers are SU Flower Fusion 2. Hope they enjoy it!

Message in A Bottle - I Received My first one!!!

WOW! I received my "first" Message in a Bottle - How fun does this look? If you are interested click on the bottle on my sidebard - you will find all the information there.....

Vintage, ephemera items and just plain junk (LOL) interests me to no end. I keep lots of interesting looking items that I don't know what to do with BUT surely someday something will pop into this silly head of mine! Recently a lady sent me some old pepsi bottle metal caps that had the "cork liners" -- does anyone besides me remember these? It brought back memories of my grandaddy Davis' old country store -- he would give us a candy bar if we collected all the used bottles customers laid down in and outside the store -- Jackpot for us! Don't you just love memories -- Yes they are PRICELESS !

Ok, let's get back to my "bottle" --- it had some little dominoes and some crafty person made a necklace by altering a domino, adding beads and a rope --I just love the colors --wanna see?

I have seen these piece of altered art on other sites and even printed out directions, but no, I have not tried it yet. One of these days, I'm over-powering my hubby's shop, clean off an entire table and start using my alcohol inks, and all that other messy stuff- WaHoo...
Maybe, I'll invite some friends to come over and help me make a mess - What do you think?
Have a happy day, I'm off to look in my "treasure chest" and send a couple of bottles off to others who are anxiously waiting by their mailboxes.....
Should you want a bottle to come to your mailbox, just e-mail me at: bgtodd2003@yahoo.com First 2 people only....

New Members to our Family!

Isn't it amazing how animals have a way of growing around your heart just like children do? Gayle brought in two kittens the other day and they are so cute. I am still trying to think of names for them. The yellow one (male) is tiny and still sleeps a lot. The gray stripe (female)one is outgoing and gets into everything.

We wondered how our dog Budye (bichon friese, male)would react to not being the center of attention. Surpisingly, he has become their guardian; he licks them after they eat (probably just wants the food?)and if they run off and start crying, he jumps down off the sofa to go look for them. It is so funny to watch.

OK - Let's move on to some stamping talk.

This is the first year that I have really thought about participating in World Card Making Day, October 4th. With so many stamps, cardstock, ribbons, and embellishments in my stash - I decided to use some of them. My weakness is buying Stampin' Up!'s designer cardstock, storing it on a shelf, and just looking at all the delightful colors and patterns. This year's In-Colors have appealed to me and I adore the d/p "Green Tea".
The cards I made with those cannot be posted because they are for my "internet stamping buddies". Now this card features one of my new Cuttlebug embossing folders called: "Autumn Type" and I used Always Artichoke for the base, Not Quite Navy (although it shows up brighter cause I took this photo outside), highlighted the word autumn with a gold leaf pen, stamped a leaf and cut it out and mounted it with dimensionals. I did another one but highlighted the word BLESSINGS.
